The Heart of Dixie Horse Lovers Club was created in June of 1998 by a handful of Middle Georgia equestrians who wanted to create a club where horse-people from the area could meet to enjoy fellowship, share ideas, learn more about horse care and horsemanship, and participate in various horse-related activities.  In less than six months the club grew quickly and in November 1998 was named the Heart of Dixie Horse Lovers Club.
Since that first meeting, the Heart of Dixie Horse Lovers Club has grown tremendously,  now boasting over 100 adult members.   Just about all breeds from Belgians to miniature horses, Arabians to Quarter Horses, and Thoroughbreds to Tennessee Walking Horses are represented.  Members have interests from barrel racing to dressage, trail riding to showing, and jumping to driving.  Although members have such varied interests in breeds and disciplines,  we have been able to find the common ground in our love for horses.  We have sponsored many trail rides, and some shows and clinics.  We also have a monthly newsletter that not only tells of our upcoming events and club news, but also has articles of interest to all horse people.  Our goal is to give horse people in Central Georgia the opportunity to meet each other, learn more about the care and training of horses, and introduce others into the wonderful world of horses.
The Heart of Dixie Horse Lovers Club meets the first Tueday of each month starting February 2007.  The location for our meeting is Ryans* on Presidential Parkway in Macon. The meeting room opens at 6:30pm and the meeting starts at 7:30pm.  We invite you to come join us and discover the friendliest group of horse-people in Middle Georgia!

*Directions: From I-475, take Exit 3 which is the US 80/ Eisenhower Parkway exit.  Go East, at the 3rd light (Presidential Pkwy) go left.  The restaurant is on the right, across from Target and beside Zaxby’s Chicken.
